I was looking for a 'T' type spacer to bridge a very small space between my stove and counter. Black was my choice color for the bridge between them, but the Stovetop Extender's profile was that of a right angle and it would not slide into my small space more than about 12 inches- even with the magnet removed- it was not a 'T' profile which I could not tell from the illustration in the ad. Most of the units I had seen in the stores were of the 'T' type and were a 'white' brushed metal, not black which I wanted. In short the stovetop Extender did not work at all for me and the illustration was not clear enough for me to see it's profile before purchase.
